The beginning of Yayasan Relawan Asmat Indonesia can be traced back to the Ragats Community, which was established on June 14, 2018. Ragats is an acronym for Relawan Agats (Agats Volunteers).

Ragats members consist of professionals and entrepreneurs who are experts in their respective fields. They aspire to share and utilize their expertise and resources to benefit Indonesian society, particularly the Asmat community.

In October 2024, Ragats underwent a transformation into Yayasan Relawan Asmat Indonesia to expand its fundraising efforts and support its programs.
